  1.             HEWLETT PACKARD DEVICE FONTS.

  4. This self-extracting file includes the 45 typefaces resident in the HP
  5. LaserJet 4 and later printers in Type 1 format. These fonts can be
  6. installed on OS/2 to provide WYSIWYG capability, so you can see a
  7. document in the font it will be printed.
  8.  
  9. Installing Fonts on OS/2.
  10.  
  11. 1. Run the self-extracting exe in its own directory on your hard disk.
  12. You've already done this if you're reading this readme file.
  13. There should be four files for each font: .pfb, .afm, .pfm, and .inf.
  14.  
  15. 2. Open OS/2 System, System Setup, Font Palette.
  16.  
  17. 3. Select the Edit Font button. The currently available fonts are
  18. shown in the Name list box.
  19.  
  20. 4. Select the Add button.  Enter the directory where the fonts are
  21. located that were unzipped in step 1, and select the Add button.
  22.  
  23. 5. A list of font (.afm) files will be displayed in the Font files
  24. window. Select a font by clicking on the left mouse button. The font
  25. name will appear in the Font names window. Select the fonts you want
  26. to add, and make sure the destination directory is the PSFONTS
  27. directory on the drive where OS/2 is installed. When you're done,
  28. select the Add button, and exit dialog windows back to the Font
  29. Palette window.

  31. 6. Select the Edit font button to see the newly added fonts in the
  32. Name list box. They will also show up in word processors as optional
  33. fonts.

  96.      HP SOFTWARE LICENSE TERMS

  98. The following License Terms govern your use of the accompanying
  99. Software unless you have a separate written agreement with HP.

  101. License Grant

  103. HP grants you a license to Use one copy of the Software. "Use" means
  104. storing, loading, installing, executing or displaying the Software.
  105. You may not modify the Software or disable any licensing or control
  106. features of the Software. If the Software is licensed for "concurrent
  107. use", you may not allow more than the maximum number of authorized
  108. users to Use the Software concurrently.

  110. Ownership
  111.  
  112. The Software is owned and copyrighted by HP or its third party
  113. suppliers. Your license confers no title or ownership in the Software
  114. and is not a sale of any rights in the Software. HP's third party
  115. suppliers may protect their rights in the event of any violation of
  116. these License Terms.

  118. Copies and Adaptations
  119.  
  120. You may only make copies or adaptations of the Software for archival
  121. purposes or when copying or adaptation is an essential step in the
  122. authorized Use of the Software. You must reproduce all copyright
  123. notices in the original Software on all copies or adaptations. You may
  124. not copy the Software onto any bulletin board or similar system.

  126. No Disassembly or Decryption
  127.  
  128. You may not disassemble or decompile the Software unless HP's prior
  129. written consent is obtained. In some jurisdictions, HP's consent may
  130. not be required for disassembly or decompilation. Upon request, you
  131. will provide HP with reasonably detailed information regarding any
  132. disassembly or decompilation. You may not decrypt the Software unless
  133. decryption is a necessary part of the operation of the Software.

  135. Transfer
  136.  
  137. Your license will automatically terminate upon any transfer of the
  138. Software. Upon transfer, you must deliver the Software, including any
  139. copies and related documentation, to the transferee. The transferee
  140. must accept these License Terms as a condition to the transfer.
  141.  
  142. Termination
  143.  
  144. HP may terminate your license upon notice for failure to comply with
  145. any of these License Terms. Upon termination, you must immediately
  146. destroy the Software, together with all copies, adaptations and merged
  147. portions in any form.
  148.  
  149. Export Requirements
  150.  
  151. You may not export or re-export the Software or any copy or adaptation
  152. in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
  153.  
  154. U.S. Government Restricted Rights
  155.  
  156. The Software and documentation have been developed entirely at private
  157. expense and are provided as "Commercial Computer Software" or
  158. "restricted computer software". They are delivered and licensed as
  159. "commercial computer software" as defined in DFARS 252.227-7013 (Oct
  160. 1988), DFARS 252.211-7015 (May 1991) or DFARS 252.227-7014 (Jun 1995),
  161. as a "commercial item" as defined in FAR 2.101 (a), or as "Restricted
  162. computer software" as defined in FAR 52.227-19 (Jun 1987) (or any
  163. equivalent agency regulation or contract clause), whichever is
  164. applicable. You have only those rights provided for such Software and
  165. Documentation by the applicable FAR or DFARS clause or the HP standard
  166. software agreement for the product.

  169.           WARRANTY STATEMENT
  170.  
  171.   1.HP warrants to you, the end-user customer, that HP hardware,
  172.      accessories and supplies, will be free from defects in materials
  173.      and workmanship after the date of purchase, for the period
  174.      specified above. If HP receives notice of such defects during the
  175.      warranty period, HP will, at its option, either repair or replace
  176.      products which prove to be defective.
  177.  
  178.   2.HP warrants to you that HP software will not fail to execute its
  179.      programming instructions after the date of purchase, for the
  180.      period specified above, due to defects in material and
  181.      workmanship when properly installed and used. If HP receives
  182.      notice of such defects during the warranty period, HP will
  183.      replace software media which does not execute its programming
  184.      instructions due to such defects.
  185.  
  186.   3.HP does not warrant that the operation of HP products will be
  187.      uninterrupted or error free. HP products may contain
  188.      remanufactured parts equivalent to new in performance or may have
  189.      been subject to incidental use. If HP is unable, within a
  190.      reasonable time, to repair or replace any product to a condition
  191.      as warranted, you will be entitled to a refund of the purchase
  192.      price upon prompt return of the product.

  194.   4.Warranty does not apply to defects resulting from (a) improper or
  195.      inadequate maintenance or calibration, (b) software, interfacing,
  196.      parts or supplies not supplied by HP, (c) unauthorized
  197.      specifications for the product, or (e) improper site preparation
  198.      or maintenance.

  200.   5.ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A
  201.      PARTICULAR PURPOSE IS LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THE EXPRESS
  202.      WARRANTY SET FORTH ABOVE. Some states or provinces do not allow
  203.      limitations on the duration of an implied warranty, so the above
  204.      limitation or exclusion might not apply to you. This warranty
  205.      gives you specific legal rights and you might also have other
  206.      rights that vary from state to state, or province to province.

  208.   6.THE REMEDIES IN THIS WARRANTY STATEMENT ARE YOUR SOLE AND
  209.      EXCLUSIVE REMEDIES. EXCEPT AS INDICATED ABOVE, IN NO EVENT WILL
  210.      HP BE LIABLE FOR LOSS OF DATA OR FOR DIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL,
  211.      CONSEQUENTIAL (INCLUDING LOST PROFIT), OR OTHER DAMAGE, WHETHER
  212.      BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE. Some states or provinces
  213.      do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or
  214.      consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may
  215.      not apply to you.
